Jazz Journeys (Musical Performance)
Location: Georgia Aquarium
Jazz Journeys is back for summer 2010! Jazz Journeys is sure to lighten your mood with the sounds of upbeat, cool tempos and smooth melodic jazz tunes as you take in the sights of some of nature's most alluring aquatic animals. Held every Friday night from May until September, guests will enjoy the exhibits in a unique atmosphere as they wander the Aquarium’s galleries and snack on a special Jazz Bites Menu created by Wolfgang Puck Catering. Blair Crimmins & The Hookers (Musical Performance)

Crimmins and his Hookers may be based in Cabbagetown, Atlanta but their music pulls on the addictive styles of New Orleans jazz. Blair Crimmins' sound is a unique blend of gritty ragtime and ‘20s and ‘30s swing with clever lyrics and contemporary style. The band has eclectic orchestrations featuring any combination of saxophones, trumpet, trombone, clarinet, accordion, banjo, drum kit and auxiliary percussion. Jeffrey Butzer opens with his piano-driven songs that connect French folk tunes with Danny Elfman compositions. All ages. Tickets are $12. On sale now.

American Heroes Airshow (Misc)

We are having an American Heroes Airshow with military, public safety and private helicopters displayed. The event is FREE and will be taking place in Canton, Ga on Sept 11th. The event will start at 9:00am and be done by 3. We will also be giving 20 local military their US citizenship.
15th Annual East Cobber Parade and Festival (Festivals)

Floats, high school marching bands, and a cornucopia of East Cobb groups will march down Johnson Ferry Road. A Festival will then be held in the Olde Towne shopping center including local entertainment, carnival games, and great food.

Walk With Me Northeast Georgia (Fundraiser)

Walk With Me benefits Easter Seals North Georgia and raises critical funds that support more than 3,000 children with special needs and disabilities in metro Atlanta and North Georgia each day. Services include Early Education & Care, Head Start/Early Head Start, Pediatric Therapy, Early Childhood Social/Emotional Development, and P.L.A.Y. Project (Play and Language for Autistic Youngsters). Walk With Me invites you to walk alongside children with disabilities and their families to support them in the challenges they face each and every day. The event will begin with a registration and check-in period during which walkers will have the opportunity to meet our Honorary Ambassadors, children who are receiving or have recently benefited from our services. The walk will begin at 11:00am and will proceed through the surrounding neighborhood, beginning and ending at the Classic Center Foundry Street Annex. The walk will conclude by 1:00pm.
